ACT I

The Legend Begins

The audience enters through comedy, friendship, music, lake days, dopamine, expensive boat gas, and the joy of being reckless with people you love. CJ fills the boat, gets on the lake, and the myth of Big K begins.

What happens

The Bloom and the Lost Years

Pressure Bloom reveals the accident that turns Kit into Big K. Wasted shows the years he spends trapped inside the monster version of himself. Then George brings the story upward, and Lake Tappen reveals the black-lake rules: calm refines, fear floods.

Masks, Markets, and Mistaken Identity

08 Wrong Man, Right Can 09 Boatman 10 Cruz Jawayne

Everyone is looking for the Gas Man, but CJ is not the Gas Man. He is Boatman, powerful but merciful. Cruz Jawayne sees the bigger danger: miracle fuel can become a market disaster if fear refines too fast.

What happens

CJ insists he is not the Gas Man. He is revealed as Boatman and Cruz Jawayne. The systemic risk of miracle fuel snaps into view.

Emotional function

Expand the stakes from lake comedy to global risk. Power without mercy is not the answer.

ACT IV

Good Ground, Pressure, and the Return

11 Good Ground 12 Somewhere to Go 13 Never Ever Say Never Ever

Good Ground teaches restraint, grace, and legacy. Somewhere to Go states the thesis. In the finale, love and truth break the curse and Kit returns.

What happens

Stewardship. The thesis: pressure needs a path. Boatman does not destroy Big K. Kit is called back by name.

Bring the monster home. Healing is connection, truth, and shared weight.

The Live Show

A theatrical concert musical. The band plays live. Video carries the book.

BOAT GAS is built as a theatrical concert musical. The band performs live while video carries the book of the show. Instead of large physical sets, the story uses animation, cinematic scenes, lighting cues, audio transitions, and a synchronized Ableton timeline. The first version can be performed by the band with backing stems, video, and lighting in a regional theater — and the same structure scales into a larger touring production.

The Drum Fortress

The drummer's oversized double-kick, multi-cymbal kit becomes more than an instrument — it's a visual storytelling device, a comedy machine, and a hidden communications tower. Backchannel messages appear on the video wall as if they are being mysteriously sent from behind the kit: scene transitions, group-chat jokes, cymbal-hit punchlines, warnings from the hidden world, emotional thesis lines when the band goes quiet.
